Our Founder

I’m Annie Sanchez, founder and CEO of Mariposa Strategies which I started in my living room with a couple hundred bucks and unwavering belief.

At the time, after nearly 15 years driving capacity building, fundraising, business strategy, partnership development, communications and marketing initiatives, I was motivated to serve not just the movements I cared about, but the people who, like me, were quietly carrying crushing pressure to steward their organizations, teams and communities.

Now, 8 years later, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with more than 250 leaders and teams around the country to facilitate complex strategic planning, moderate team dynamics and relationship repair, and advise on cross-functional operations and implementation. I've also led more than 100 workshops and retreats for non-conforming leaders, artists and entrepreneurs.

I’m a relational leader, skilled anticipatory strategist, facilitator and event producer with deep experience in community building, program and curriculum design, organizational development, team building and leadership coaching.

I deeply believe in the power of possibility that’s found in our greatest challenges. But, it’s not just about belief. As a strategist, I’m oriented toward solutions that are iterative, testable, trackable, and emergent. I want to be remembered for helping often-underestimated people more deeply understand themselves and who they are becoming. I find that this intersection of understanding (present) and becoming (future) is where the power of our leadership and movements have the greatest potential.

There is extraordinary magic in people like us stepping into our power. I’ve been told more than once: “Everyone needs an Annie.”
