My ancestors sewed the seeds for me to be and grow here.

I am the great granddaughter, granddaughter and daughter of business owners before entrepreneur was a word in our vocabulary.

I founded Mariposa Strategies in 2018 and designed it in response to my own search for a coach who when I needed one most.

During a four year struggle navigating deep grief and professional overwhelm, I craved support from a coach of color. I found it really challenging to find someone who focused on both life coaching and professional/business strategy.

When receiving personal and professional support from someone, I know it’s important to be comfortable getting vulnerable. As a woman of color, I understand how the ability to get there with someone comes down to being able to relate, and being able to relate has so much to do with having shared lived experiences.

A strong, connected and vulnerable relationship with a coach can help you move from anxiety and overwhelm to clarity and progress. Once you get there, it’s like magic!

MY BACKGROUND

I identify as a woman of color with complicated Spanish, Mexican and Indigenous lineage.

I’m a partner, tía, sister, daughter, granddaughter and fiercely loyal friend. I’m a double water earth being who finds great joy in and purpose in dreaming into the world I know we have the power to create.

Proud of my diverse background and life experiences. Here, in no special order, is some it:

  • Certified virtual coach, business advisor and professional fundraiser

  • Experience creator (giant events to intimate astrology circles)

  • Backpacked for six months around South and Central Americas

  • Licensed esthetician

  • Waited on all the tables and served all the celebrities

  • Nonprofit director

  • From New Mexico (Tewa lands), I’ve also lived in New Orleans, LA, Hawaii, Brooklyn, the Bay Area, an RV, coast of Maine, and Atlanta.

I’ve worked across multiple sectors at different levels of leadership, and feel proud of the reputation I’ve built as a compassionate and inclusive community member, leader and colleague.

A curious person with a lifelong approach to personal development and knowledge-stacking, I’ve experienced my share of imposter syndrome. I don’t have a college degree and realize how the societal emphasis on having one contributed to my anxiety for years. I’m happy to report that I no longer give a fuck.

I live on Tewa lands with my partner, Matt, our cat, Mantequilla, and oh so many houseplants.

I support sensitive, visionary magic makers from all over.

I appreciate how real you were during our check ins down to the nitty gritty of the work. I felt supported, heard, and motivated during our time together. I’m grateful I was able to work with you one on one. I’ve started thinking more strategically for future success and sustainability, rather than immediate action to check a box.
